Liquid Biopsy for Early Cancer Screening
Wednesday, April 30 from 9:00am - 1:00pm in the All Star Lobby Office.
This blood draw, funded by the BMDCA, will occur at the BMDCA National Specialty in conjunction with the Histiocytic Sarcoma Risk Test Clinic. Participation is limited to qualifying dogs in attendance.
The “dog genetics” team at the Institut de Génétique et Développement de Rennes (IGDR) has developed genetic tests to detect histiocytic sarcoma or monitor response to lymphoma treatment from a simple blood test. The technique is based on the detection of mutations in tumor DNA circulating in plasma. By making these genetic tests available to veterinary medicine, the “Génétique du Chien” team provides veterinarians & owners with new tools to improve the diagnosis & management of these cancers in dogs.
See Description below for links to Dr. Hedan's recent presentation about his research and the IGDR website.
